Aaron Mattox became the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director for Nolan Catholic High School in July 2023 AFTER the school and Diocese Leaders learned of his TVS improprieties. Jeff Dover (who joined him at Nolan Catholic High School) was present during, or advised of, Aaron Mattox's TVS improprieties. Jeff Dover was no longer on Nolan's staff for the 2025 season.
Nolan swiftly learned about Aaron Mattox's unmatched ability to coach losing football (setting and then breaking his record for blowout losses in his 1st, 4th & 7th games). He coached the team to large losses in all 11 games in 2023 by averaging more than 53 points allowed per game. That is 0 - 11.
His second season continued the losses - never winning any game in Nolan's TAPPS district. His 2024 record was 2 non-district wins and 8 losses. It continued in 2025 with one rain-shortened non-district win and 5 losses before an assistant coach was elevated to replace Aaron Mattox as the head football coach in early October. He inexplicably retained the title of Athletic Director.
Parents should remain vigilant any time Aaron Mattox is around youth.
